Jacob Paul Tapper, born March 12, 1969, is an American journalist, author, and cartoonist. He is the lead Washington anchor for CNN and hosts the weekday news show "The Lead with Jake Tapper."
Tapper joined CNN in January 2013 as the network's chief Washington correspondent. He has also written two New York Times bestselling novels, "The Hellfire Club" and "The Devil May Dance," as well as the bestselling nonfiction book "The Outpost."
