Daimler Truck Launches Public Road Trials of Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Truck

Hydrogen-Powered Trucks Poised to Revolutionize Commercial Transportation

Daimler Truck has officially commenced customer trials of its Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Truck, marking a significant milestone in the development of hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles.

The public road approved prototype, unveiled at the demopark open-air exhibition, represents the culmination of extensive research and development by Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks.

As part of the publicly funded WaVe pilot project, the GenH2 Truck is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell that generates electricity for its electric motors. This innovative technology offers zero tailpipe emissions, making it an environmentally sustainable alternative to diesel-powered trucks.

The series-produced variant of the GenH2 Truck is expected to have a payload of 25 tons and a gross weight of 40 tons. It is designed to offer a range of up to 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) on a single fill of hydrogen.

By mid-year, Daimler Truck plans to conduct road tests of its hydrogen fuel-cell trucks, further validating their performance and durability.

The introduction of hydrogen-powered trucks is a transformative shift for the automotive industry, promising cleaner and more efficient transportation solutions for the future.
